The Lounge
The lounge is a shared space where guests of Il San Gaetano can unwind and enjoy a sense of homely warmth in a rich environment with the splendor of the residence’s noble past. The red Verona marble f ireplace and the Calacatta marble flooring, both original features, make a striking impression. Antique furnishings and silks from the Historic Silk Factories of San Leucio envelop visitors in a luxurious embrace. A grand Murano glass chandelier completes the harmony and splendor of the space.
The First-Floor Kitchen
At first glance, this space appears to be a charming passageway leading to the terrace, adorned with tall glass windows in the style of an old greenhouse, evoking a late 19th-century French winter garden. Hidden behind wall cabinets, a small yet fully equipped modern kitchen is revealed. The handcrafted floor, designed by the residence’s owner, architect Gaetano, incorporates geometric patterns and colors that flow throughout the house: the yellows of the lemons and sun, the blues of the sky and sea, the reddish purples of the sunsets, and the greens of Sorrentine gardens.
The Terrace
Furnished with tasteful and simple elegance, the terrace is a true oasis of serenity amidst the picturesque alleys of Sorrento. A white Carrara marble fireplace invites guests to long conversations infused with the sweetness of a well-earned pause. Classical half-bust statues, carefully arranged, evoke an atmosphere of ancient grandeur, as if history itself finds solace here. Marble and wrought-iron tables provide the perfect setting for enjoying tea or coffee, transforming every moment into one of contemplation and pure serenity, immersed in the beauty of this outdoor retreat.
