We couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for our 2 night stay in Sorrento. Il San Gaetano was not only beautiful and spotless but also full of ancient history as evidenced all over the building. Our gracious hosts, Marcella and Antonio, were more than happy to share the history of this building with us. We enjoyed delicious fresh breakfasts prepared by Marcella and relaxed in both the main floor garden and the 2nd level outside terrace. The quiet that this hidden treasure afforded was wonderful. Il San Gaetano is located in the heart of Sorrento, surrounded by a variety of street markrts and close to the sea. We walked to everything. One morning we ate breakfast outside in the private garden and watched Marcella feed the resident 8 turtles that roam the garden. Marcella and Antonio are 2 very nice hosts who love this building in which Antonio and his parents once lived. We would definitely stay here again!

San Gaetano: A Piece of Paradise with Heart – We will definitely be back! ​San Gaetano is an absolutely stunning place that we recommend without reservation! ​The perfect balance: The location is wonderfully quiet, yet central enough to perfectly explore the beautiful old town. ​The comfort and the unique service are unparalleled. The consistently helpful and incredibly friendly team makes you feel like you are in a 5-star hotel. Marcella and Antonio are incredibly warm hosts whose hospitality is simply remarkable and made our stay so special. ​The wonderful, homemade breakfast featuring local specialties was a culinary delight! The charming appeal of the antique furniture and the enchanting garden with its turtles and plants make this place a true oasis of relaxation.

Beautiful location that was a true hidden gem in Sorrento. Location was walking distance to the ferry terminals and the train station as well as the restaurants and shopping. Walking into Il San Gaetano was like stepping into a museum with a mix of the Roman architecture mixed with the Renaissance art. The room was large and very comfortable. The garden was stunning and such a hidden treat being in the middle of the shopping areas. The garden is also very instagrammable and made for amazing pics! The turtles were an added bonus that made the garden just feel so charming and welcoming. Antonio and Marcella were wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable. They recommended so many wonderful things for us to do during our stay in Sorrento/Amalif/Italy. Would stay here time and time again. We truly loved everything about our stay here!

Il San Gaetano is a true gem perfectly situated in the heart of Sorrento! This boutique hotel offers direct access to shops, restaurants, and the port—yet remains a tranquil and beautifully preserved haven. From the warm welcome to the serene atmosphere, everything about this place is exceptional. Each morning, a delicious homemade Italian breakfast is served on the terrace beneath the trees—a truly charming experience. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated, and full of historic character, with very comfortable beds that ensure a restful stay. Il San Gaetano would also be an ideal venue for a small seminar on wine tasting (Marcella, the owner, is an expert!) or an elegant team-building cooking class. We highly recommend this boutique hotel and are already looking forward to our return!
